Expertise (theoretical and practical):
- Imaging optics: dioptric (refractive), catoptric (reflective) and catadioptric (combination of mirrors and lenses) systems;
- Non-imaging optics for: laser diodes (bars and matrices), LEDs, optical sensors;
- Design for the ultraviolet, visible or infrared domain;
- Zoom, telecentric and anamorphic optics;
- Scanning/pointing systems (achromatic Risley prisms, mirrors);
- Echelle spectrometers;
- Fourier transform spectrometers;
- Stray light suppression strategies;
- Radiometric and photometric calculations;
- Fiber-to-fiber coupling efficiency (single and multimode);
- Measurement of the modulation transfer function (MTF) of optical systems;
- Experience in optical testing (Fizeau interferometry, Shack-Hartmann sensors, resolution measurements, alignment telescopes);
- Basic understanding of adaptive optics.
